Here's the information from Rootsweb technical support as of two days ago: "The Roots Web site is currently undergoing maintenance. As a result some areas of the site and its data are not accessible. This includes access to the archived Mailing List data. When the maintenance is complete these issues should be resolved. We expect the work to be completed soon, but we do not have a time frame as to when this will occur." In the meantime you can use the archive on Google Groups.
