This work was originally Published in Edinburgh by William Brown in 1918. The author- Dr. James Arnott was born in India in 1845. Following in his father's footsteps, he had a long career in the H.E.I.C.'s Medical Service. Upon his retirement he began work on this highly regarded book, exploring the origins and branches of the Arnot/Arnott clan. The book- Among those branches examined are the Arnotts of Woodmylne, Kirkconnel Hall, Chapel, Arlarie, and Forfarshire (Angus) ; plus the Arnots of Lochrig, Balcormo, Balberton, Fairney, Kilquhis, Newton, Galloway, Scotlandwell, Capildrae, Fife, Ireland and Carsegour. Notable members of the family are also described, and there are several illustrations. This digital edition is based upon high resolution images taken from an original copy, and the body of the text is searchable to a very high degree of accuracy using Acrobat / Adobe Reader.
