    1. Scottish genealogical research
    2. eXpertGenealogy
    3. More at http://expertgenealogy.com/?x=MacLeod Researcher with over 20 years experience in Scottish genealogical research Scottish Research I have worked in and traveled throughout Scotland for nearly 60 years. As a result, I have a close and intimate knowledge of the local and national geography, history, place names and people of Scotland. GENERAL RESEARCH I undertake all forms of Scottish family research including ancestry, living relatives and sighting and copying documents. ANCESTRY I can widen your basic family history knowledge by using the records which are easily accessible and those which are are less well known. LIVING RELATIVES "AND SOME STAYED AT HOME - COME FORWARD TO GO BACK." Remember that not all members of a family left Scotland. The present can be used to find the past by tracing the lines of those who remained in Scotland, down to the present day. This can be extremely rewarding - in human terms and as a means of finding information about early generations, which often cannot be obtained from the records. PROBLEM SOLVING SERVICE I specialise in solving particularly difficult research problems. I have ready access to the very wide range of records available in Edinburgh and I use them to try to find ways around difficult problems. Often a problem can be overcome by moving from the main research line, taking a different route, and coming back to the original line. OTHER RECORDS WHICH I CAN ACCESS ● Army ● Royal Navy ● Merchant Navy ● Testaments (Wills) ● Deeds ● Judiciary ● Property ● Land and Estates ● Old newspapers (Obituaries, death notices and event reports.) ● Non Conformist denominations ● Monumental Inscriptions ● Kirk Session ● Old maps ● University ● Schools ● Professional Organisations ● City Directories
