I'm not sure of it, but judging from the Tagliavias' distribution in the Palermo province, nowadays, I'd say she could have been born in the town of Palermo or Partinico. Many Tagliavia's on Ellis Island seem to have come from Sciacca, too. Take a look here, for Tagliavias on the phonebook: <http://elenco.libero.it/elencotel/public/RisultatoComuni.jsp?nome=&cognome=tagliavia&provincia=PA&prov=PALERMO>. Also, check: <http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/customsearchresults.asp?LDS=1®ion=15&last_name=tagliavia&date_range=0&date_range_index=0> for some data on Tagliavia's. Try emailing the State Archive of Palermo, and give them the exact datas for your research. They should be able to help you. Here's their email: <[email protected]> Once you managed to find the towm, you'll just only have to go to the nearest family history center and take a look at their data on microfilms for the birth act. Southern Italy is very well documented. Good Luck, Fabio On Wed, 21 Jul 2004 22:39:25 -0600, "TJ" <[email protected]> wrote: >I'm looking for Luigia Tagliavia, born August 26, 1864 in Palermo.
