    3. The death of a distant English cousin of my great-grandfather was reported in The Times, Wednesday, Apr 24, 1889: On the 17th April, at 38 Via Gregoriana, Rome [....] EVELYN VARDON, M.D., Cameriere d'Onore of His Holiness Leo XIII [...] aged 41. R.I.P. Is there any way I can find out how long he had been in Rome? I am also wondering whether his fourth child WINIFRED VARDON was born there. She would have been born after 1881. It is not impossible that his daughters Marie and Winifred died in Rome, as I have not (yet) found trace of them as adults.

    2. Yes, - you can ask the "certificato storico di residenza from...(year) to.... (year) " in Roma Civil record Office.... in same office you can ask also death act of Evelyn; -and if the children was also in Roma you can ask the "certificato di famiglia storico" (by payment) or the "scheda anagrafica" of Evelyn's children.. - also you can see the microfilms in LDS center : 1.RG 33 series -- foreign registers and returns for British nationals in Florence, Leghorn, Naples, Rome, Turin and Venice, Italy, 1707-1947 Great Britain. Foreign Office 2. civil records: Registri dello stato civile di Roma (Roma), 1810-1812, 1871-1930 Roma (Roma).
