You can see the ship manifest at this site: www.ellisisland.org. It lists his father as Phillipo and it would appear he returned to Italy several times see the listings for 1903/1912/1920, etc. This seems to narrow the search to Caserta. Mike >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mike & Marialuisa Thanks so much for the answer to my question on SS.COSMA E DAMIANO, very much appreciate your time and effort. Mike, I saw the manifest for Francesco in the years 1903 and 1920, however I didn't see the year 1912. You gave the Passenger, ID number. Are all the manifests for Francesco group under this number? Where would I locate that on the site!! Thanks again for the help!! Regards, Jane

Jane, The Passenger ID number is different for each arrival and Francesco actually has two different IDs for the 1903 arrival. I did not use the Ellis Island site to conduct my search. I used Stephen Morse's site which provides more data and actually enables one to search for missing manifests. You can find his site here http://www.stevemorse.org/index.html I searched Francesco using the White Form and entered his first and last name then clicked on Search (new format). This is a very useful website and I suggest you explore all its possibilities. Mike
