Hello I thought I would just add my two cents here. I know that Ancestry seems to have most of the census years, but not all. If you don't have subscription to Ancestry, there are alternatives to this. One is heritagequestonline.com This is usually carried in most libraries but is usually an in house use or if they have webpage you have to enter your library card number in to use this service. www.familysearch.org has the 1880 census on line and it is free to use there site. www.rootsweb.com and www.familysearch.org both have the social security death index available free of charge. The only thing that would cost if you want the social security application then the government will charge. I don't know the cost presently and it seems everything is going up so don't want to say. Hope this helps someone! Mary 2obergs@kewanee.com
