I'm going to be in Italy in a few months. As a result of my upcoming trip, I am curious to know if I can find any family members that may remember or know the families of Salvatore or Rose Salamone. Salvatore Salamone's family originated from Palermo, Sicily. Rose Giaccaloni/Giaccalone was from a town pronounced "Mutzzarale" (actual spelling unknown.) If anyone can help me or has any suggestion please let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dani Salamone

It's a long shot, but try looking for your surnames in the on line italian white pages. If there's anybody in your towns drop them a postcard asking if they or any family members remember Salvatore or Rose ( it was either Rosa or Rosina before she got to America). Get someone to write this in Italian for you. Add your address and tell the people of your up coming visit asking them to let you know if the names mean anything to them. I actually know two people who found relatives this way. Ideally you would have started serious research long before a few months before your trip and had many more family connections to question people about. "Mutzzarale" sounds suspiciously a lot like one of my favorite Italian cheeses;-) Benny Italian White Pages: http://paginebianche.virgilio.it/index.html
