But if the shoe fits....... Many years ago in the fledgling years of newsgroups such as this one, mailing lists such as Comunes of Italy and PIE, there was a gentleman poster by the name of John Castagna. John would absolutely come unglued if you even attempted to post under a phony name or address. And if you did, he would tear you apart with posts that would make Larry Flynt blush. Too bad he doesn't lurk in these areas today. Ted Saselli/
Maybe you missed the subject line. The entire thread is about Benny. If you didn't mean to refer to him, couldn't you change the subject line? Good newsreaders (even mediocre ones) allow you to do that. On Tue, 10 Sep 2002 09:56:13 -0700, Ted <badaboom@sysmatrix.net> wrote: >Benny, or whomever you are, >Please reread my post. Plenty of people spit on poor old John, too and openly refused to be told what to do, just the way you and your cronies spit on me by totally ignoring the fact that I was correct when saying that sales pitches are not to be tolerated on this newsgroup. That's the real issue here, but nobody wants to discuss it. Benny happens to be my nickname, what people have called me all of my life, nearly 75 years now. It is just as much my "name" as anything else, if that's really any of your business. If I had 250 or so Sasellis to give you would you care what my mother used to call me or could I only be known by what's on my birth certificate? Fool. Talk amongst your selves and decide if your going to let that person continue hawking her CDs here which are little more than transcribed information off of public records. 38 bucks a pop. That's the same kind of thing we all scream foul about when RootsWeb and the other big boys do it. I'm out of here unless somebody says something really stupid. Benny
