    3. My letters to the Anagrafe took about 2 to 2 1/2 months to get a response. They wrote back both times, but it took a painstakingly long time to get them! I always included an email address, but never got an email response. Anytime I've written to the INS, they send a paper telling they have assigned a case number or something like that to your name. That seems like it only took a couple weeks to get back, then the actual search took a couple months maybe. If the INS never sent you a response that they were searching, I think I'd write again. That has happened to me. I think they lose things sometimes! I sent a letter to the L'Ufficiale Di Anagrafe of Bagnoli Irpino back on Jan 22, 2002. I wondered how long I should wait before sending a follow-up letter. I enclosed a bank draft in Euro's (not that easy to get), but forgot to put my e-mail address on the letter. If I could find an e-mail address for them, should I follow up by e-mail or regular mail? Also, what is the normal time for Declaration of Intent/Naturalization response from INS? I mailed that back on Jan 2nd. Thanks in advance for the advice.
