does anybody knows if casanova in the year 1890 in Fuscaldo, Foggia was referent to a family name or a type of man? this is because I am lookink for my ancestors and I was told my untie married a casanova at the port when all her family went to argentina to emigrate She was so in love with this man that they married just before the family left the country.

Judging by the little love story, your relative could have married a casanova not a Casanova. Sounds to me that only your source would know if they were using the name or the term. Frank F.
