I found the name Teofilak and am thinking this must be it. I haven't found the origin of the name and may send some letters to the 20 people in the US listed with that last name. It may not even be Italian, I was just told that branch of the family was Italian. BTW this is especially frustrating since the maternal side of my family I have been able to link back over 300 years.
