My Great Grandmother was the wife of Giovanni Lagorio. Known in England as Catherine, she was possibly christened Catorina. I am unsure of her maiden surname (Gottimarty, Cadamatia have been found on records but this could be what the English Registrar thought he heard for Cademartori ) She died in 1909 aged 81 years and would have came to Britian around 1860- 1865 and was probbably married when she arrived here. Her husband, Giovanni, fought in the Crimia war, 1854 to 1856 ( We have a medal with '6th RegimentoDei Fantoria' on it) and came from Chiavri. I have information about them in Britian but would love to find out about them in Italy.
