piglio (it comes from pigliare= to grab) is an ancient way to say look at... un piglio severo... a harsh look un piglio minaccioso... a threatening look it had also a second meaning = to start dar di piglio a qualcosa.... to start something nowadays is still used sometimes (but is considered not perfectly correct) the 1th person of the present in the verb 'pigliare' to get, to grab I never heard to use it as a name....... anyhow would have probably the meaning of decided, resolute.... ciao Mauro
