To: Twinklestar800: I checked my Italians to America and the only one listed was: Ministeri, Filippo, 40 from Italy (no town listed) arrived at Ellis Island 15 October 1888 and destination listed as New York. He was a shoemaker and embarked at Palermo. There are 42 listed on www.ellisisland.org, most coming from Sicily/Palermo. Checking www.labo.net/cognomi, you will find the name scattered all over Italy. You may want to check www.phonenumbers.net and click on Italy to see exactly where they are. There are 10 listed on the SSDI (there may be more because my disk is dated circa 2000). I noted that all but one had their SSN issued in MA, with only Robert Ministeri coming from NY. You may want to check out the FHC film 1724620 which is a name index of passengers arriving at Boston, MA 1902-1935 I checked "Our Italian Surnames" by Fucilla and there was nothing listed. I did check my Italian dictionary and found : Ministero meaning an office, function or ministry. I also checked by 1881 UK census and the FHC's Western Europe set, but there was no one even near to that name listed. I agree with Frank. Steve Della Rocchetta is not helpful. If he really wanted to help people he'd say here go to this web site http://www.somthing.com and if you want to see more web sites go to my web site but he makes people go to his web site and look through bunches of stuff and you have to guess what web site he wanted you to go to.
