I am looking for ANY information on Rose (nee Tomasino) and Harry Marshall. They were married and owned Marshall's TV & Appliance Store located on Forest Home Ave. in Milwaukee, WI. She was my mother's eldest sister and died about July 1946. Harry died within the last 8 years. So far, a few people have sent me listings of the SSDI for Harry and I am in the process of verifying this information. I would like to know Rose's death date and where she is interred. I have her birth date. It is March 17, 1914. Thank you for any help you may be able to supply. Jo Ann

Hi Paula Since your NIGRO come from San Fele PZ, I thought I'd mention that I'm coming across a smattering of NIGRO in nearby Tito PZ. I'm transcribing all their records from 1809-1910. If you're missing anyone, they may have ended up in Tito Grace ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tea Cup" <grn_phc@cnporyy.nospam.arg> To: <GEN-ITALIAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, April 09, 2002 2:05 AM Subject: Re: Italian Citizenship > "Deborah Vivona" wrote in message > news:OE122Ex3AkwtsQztQoP0001c8d5@hotmail.com... > > Hi Paula, I, like Chris ,am working on obtaining Duel citizenship ,for my > daughter, who plans to live in Italy. Hello, I am helping a person find papers for a great-grandfather. He came to Arkansas abt 1889, not sure from where. A WPA list says he was Naturalized in Little Rock, no date given. Would they write to LR or to maybe New Orleans, for the record? Also didn't someone say that the New Orleans Ships list were going on-line soon? If they write to NO, could someone please give me a current address for the I Service there? Thank you, Carleen

It is important to narrow down the geographical area as much as possible. You don't have to be great in Italian, but making an effort to communicate in that language will be warmly received. We got by on a couple of introductory tapes, a phrase book and a dictionary. If you know any Spanish, most Italians will be able to understand you well enough. Jeff DeMarco
Use the Italian phonebook on the Interent and enter some last names of family members in the provinces they came from. I'm cerain you will find some. I found most of my closer cousins in one small area in Sicily. If you know the name of the town, and it's a small town, you can probably ask someone on the street if they know someone with your family name. Of course, if you don't speak Italian, it might be a little tough. Good Luck. OS On Mon, 08 Apr 2002 00:49:15 GMT, "Kathleen Accetta" <kaccetta@earthlink.net> wrote: >Hi, I'm new to this group. Hi, I'm new to this group. I just returned from a trip to northern Italy and plan on going to southern Italy next spring. My family came from Naples and Sicily and I wanted to see if I could locate any relatives when I visit again. Does anyone know how I would go about that? Kathleen

It took six months for my request to a priest to be answered. There is a shortage of priests in Italy, so that many priests are often in charge of a large area and as a result are overworked. Additionally, some priests must take outside employment, such as teaching, to support themselves when contributions from parishioners are not sufficient to live on. Did you include a donation to the church with your request? I enclosed 100,000 lire (about US$50.00) with my request. If you like, you can try writing to the Diocesean office to ask if they have a copy of the record you seek in their archives. Alternately, you can look into hiring a professional researcher.
