Repost: A new release of KStableau allows you to make charts of descendant trees. (Previous versions focused on pedigrees and kinship analysis charts). The charts can be published on the web. There are ways of influencing the layout, the way names are presented, etc. And you can suppress still living family members. The names in the chart hyperlink to a text file with family details. To produce a chart, you need a gedcom file, which you can export from the genealogical program where you store your family data. Virtually no experience is needed for a nice result. Go to www.home.zonnet.nl/kstableau/ for an example, the download (the link is in the intro section) and assistence. I would appreciate it if you spread the word, provided you like the results. Are there any members of this group who currently reside in Lamezia Terme. My family on my fathers side came from Nicastro and Sambiase and I would like to make contact with someone living in this area. Ralph Muraca

A couple of years ago I decided to again try my hand at genealogy. My mother had the address of one of my father's cousins. She isn't really a blood relative she is related thru his step-mother so I thought to myself, "what could she know." I finally contacted her and learned that after her mother died she lived with an Aunt in the same three family house as my father and his family. She knew more about my father's family than you could imagine. When she came for a visit she was saying a vengeful sister-in-law had destroyed all her family's old photos and papers. The only photo of her brother who died in 1939 was a one inch square of just his face taken when he was six. It turned out amongst my father's unmarked photos I had a large photo of her brother when he received first holy communion plus two other photos. I also had a photo of her other brother when is was confirmed and a photo of her grandfather. We believe the photos originally belonged to my father's step-mother who lived with us before she passed away. Only a couple of weeks before my sister had said to me, about the photos, "throw them away, you don't know those people." So, contact EVERYONE you can. You never know what will turn up. http://community.webtv.net/MZI/IovinoDApolitoMauro
They refer to the marital status of the person: Married, Single or Widow/Widower, in that order. One box is most likely checked off. The lack of dates of death means that they don't have the death information - probably migrated, or the town they died in didn't inform the birth town. Merci! Louise Témélini
