    3. Hi Ian At the end of January 2002 the Anglo-Italian list was created as a discussion forum for those who are researching their Anglo-Italian Ancestry. (Anglo-Italian-L-request@rootsweb.com) and that through discussion on the list, it has become apparent that there is no formal Society available to researchers, and thus researching Anglo-Italian Ancestry can be rather isolating. It was felt that the long term aims would be to: 1. Form a Anglo-Italian Family History Society 2. To develop a web page for links and other useful bits of information. Both of these are to run along side the Anglo-Italian Mailing List and it is intended that this will be open to all those researching in this area, and it is intended that those without Internet Access will also benefit. Over the last few days Elaine Collins and I have discussed having a meeting, and as a result Elaine has agreed to coordinate such an event. The date of the Inaugural Meeting of the Anglo-Italian Family History Society has been arranged. For further details please see the Web Page http://www.dreamwater.net/anglersrest/Italian.htm The membership form is now available and can be sent as an email attachment by emailing me. Please support this worthwhile project. 3. Italian Genealogical Records How to Use Italian Civil, Ecclesiastical, & Other Records in Family History Research by Trafford Cole I recommend this book for everyone researching in Italy. Check your local library or bookstore for this book. It is also available online, both new and used, at various websites. I have no affiliation with the author, Dr. Trafford Cole, nor with the publisher. I am recommending this book because I have found it to an invaluable tool in my own research. Also go to my family website http://www.dellarocchetta.com/ and on the Favorite Links Page and there is lots of research tools that are very helpful. Also read through the family site we believe it to be very interesting and informative. 3. Hi Gretchen I just went to this site <www.familysearch.org> with your name of interest and the data is only available from 1865 to 1915. That means that they did follow the rules that said you must take data from 1809. So your only shot is the church records. Go to my family website http://www.dellarocchetta.com/ and on the favorite Links Page there are lots of research sites. There is one that can find most towns in Italy and give some history on that town. There are links to LDS Family History Library, Surname Navigator, and many more. You may want to put your name on the Surname Navigator and see what you get. There are so many that it wouls be to long a email. If you need any help email us personally. 2. Jane Powell
    3. Here's my problem! Great-grandfather Amilcare Domenico Andrea Perutelli was born somewhere in Carrara about 1853/4. His father was Domenico Perutelli. Amilcare came to live in England around 1880 and no English documentation has his exact place of birth. I've checked naturalization records etc. and he doesn't appear. Census records only give his place of birth as Italy. I've written to Perutellis in Carrara and only had one (negative) reply in 5 months. Is there any other line of enquiry that I've missed, or any other suggestions? I may go to Carrara in the summer and look for a cemetery with a Domenico Perutelli - any ideas how I find where the churches in Carrara are located? This may be a last resort, so any help would be most appreciated. Thanks, Jane
