    1. Italian in NJ
    2. M B
    3. I'm looking for a man I met and fell in love with 25 years ago in 1977. He lived above an Italian restaurant in Chambersburg, the Italian section of Trenton, NJ on Morris Avenue and Anderson Street. (Lou Creccas?) His name is Michael B. I forget his last name. He was a soldier in the local branch of the Mafia. I'm not involved in law enforcement of any kind. I am just interested in finding out if he is ok and hopefully speaking to him on the phone. He's about 6'2'', brown eyes and hair, very attractive, well built, in his 50s now. He was very popular with the ladies and called them Cara Mia. I would appreciate any information you can provide.

    1. Mari / Marich
    2. ussie John
    3. Hi group, I am hoping you can help me, to find some information on my brother in laws Guido (Barry) families called MARI : De ZORZI and FLEGO. births, marriage's and deaths, places and dates. We believe that most documents went from Croatia to the TRIESTE archives? It seems that Luigi Mari lost all the paperwork of his family history, now his children want to know about their roots in Italy and Croatia. The information below is all they have. Luigi Mari was born in Split, Croatia; 4.11.1908, died in Melbourne, Australia, July 1984. His parents were: Alessandro Mari/Marich and Maria (Pateasi) Mari and lived at some time after the war at refugee camp? (Mantova,Campe Profughi)?? The Luigi MARICH / MARI family were Yugoslavia citizens in Split, Croatia, . In 1928 the name MARICH was changed to MARI, and the family were permanent citizens in Zara in1940. After the war, General Tito took charge of Yugoslavia and some Italians living there, emigrated. In November 1949, Luigi went to TRIESTE, Italy living at Via del Bosco 4, ECA, TRIESTE and applied for Italian citizenship. Luigi and his dauchter Paola, emigrated to Australia 27 Oct 1950, on the American ship "General Muir" from German port Delmun Haas[ something like that] to Melbourne. (Passenger list found) His second wife Marchello (Flego) and son Guido (Barry) came to Australia on the ship "Australia" 23 October 1952. No name records found of this voyage Tried everywhere but no mention of married names or maiden names. The dates are confirmed of arrival in Fremental and Melbourne Australia. Luigi's first wife was Esther DE ZORZI born 1902, she had a son called Allesandro born 1934 in Zara, Croatia. He lived only 6 days. (Esther, we think she was a daughter of an AUSTRIAN Earl) One child to this union called Paola Mari born 25.1.1936 in Zara, Croatia. Now living in Melbourne Australia. Second wife Marchella FLEGO born 18.6.1920 in Servola, Trieste, Italy. Died 1972 in Melbourne. Australia. 3 children. Erno Sossi born 1940 in Trieste, Italy. Where-abouts unknown. Tried phone with no luck. Guido (Barry) Mari b. 23.3.1946 in Trieste, Italy, now living in Melbourne,Australia. Allessandra (Sandra) b. 25.3.1961, Melbourne. Australia. Still living in Melbourne, The Marich families were already Maris when Luigi was born in 1908. Paula thinks it was her grandfather that changed the name. His name was Allessandro Marich/Mari. The second wife and Barry were not mentioned in the emigration papers. Not married maybe? Luigi died on the 21 June 1984 in Melbourne, Australia. Esther Zorzi/Mari [Paulas mum] was one of 4 daughters born to Cilia and Guiseppe De Zorzi listed in order 1 Poalo married Umberto Bonnicioli had 2 children, 1 daughter Cilia and a son Nazzario who died in the war. 2 Esther [Paulas mum] 3 Gina no imformation. 4 Anita 2daughters 1 Mieletta and Irene. any help would be appreciate please give us a push in the right direction. This family badly wants to know where they came from and their history. Hoping to hear from you soon and we will wait for your answer in anticipation, Yours Sincerely John Kook, in sunny Kingscliff.Australia. For the MARI family Paula Barry Sandra

The de' Mari family is an old, but minor, member of the Genoese patriciate. The ROGLO database shows eight marriages of members of the family into more distingued houses (see below). The most notable alliance (#6, below) was the marriage of Teodorina de' Mari with Arano Cibo. Their son, Giovanni Battista Cibo, became Pope Innocent VIII (1484-1492). Teodorina's brother, Domenico, had an elder son, Lorenzo, who adopted the style Cibo de' Mari. His uncle created and published him a cardinal in the sole cosistory of the reign, March 9, 1489. He died in 1503. Additional details in the texts below. Number of branches: 8 1. Aiguina de' Mari & Cristiano Spinola +/1330 2. Peretta de' Mari & Domenico Doria +1482/ 3. Nipote di Innocenzo VIII (1484-92), ritenuto figlio illegittimo, dottissimo e di ottimi costumi. I suoi primi titoli furono prefetto di Castel Sant'Angelo e canonico di S. Pietro. Nel 1485 fu arcivescovo di Benevento e quattro anni dopo venne eletto cardinale presbitero col titolo di S. Susanna, indi di S. Until now, this site had been limited to Campania and Basilicata, but effective immediately, I'm accepting surname entries from all nine provinces of Sicily. Please read the simple instructions at http://SurnamesByTown.com/submit.html so I don't have to guess whether "Palermo" is one of your surnames, or the city, or the province. Tom
