I did go to the genealogy library in salt lake city and I found Maria Giuseppina's father and mother. Her mother is Alaide Di Santo and her father is Angiolo Tommei. Angiolo's father is Costantino Tommei. The mother of Angiolo Tommei is Cat Gimocenti. I plan on going back tomorrow to find the Casanova line. I have not yet checked out your web site but I plan to go there. Thank you for your friendship Ciao, Pete

@micalement. François.

One of them is Maddalena: Here's what I found in italian: Il Sestiere della Maddalena confina a mezzogiorno col mare, a levante coi Sestieri del Molo e Portoria, a tramontana col Sestiere di San Vincenzo ed a ponente con quello di Pré. Seems the cult of Maria Maddalena was very intense in XI century, due to influence from Provence. Hope it helps, Fabio

Here is a new website I thought you might like to view .It looks really interesting Donna Mayor Have a nice Summerhttp://www.italiamerica.org/id20.htm Donna Mayor <swindling@aol.com> RootsWeb mailing lists: CIAVARELLA & FAGGIANELLI(A) surnames and the Italian regions of PUGLIA & PIEDMONT
The surname-matching website at http://SurnamesByTown.com is now accepting surname submissions from Calabria region (That is, the provinces of Catanzaro, Cosenza, Crotone, Reggio Calabria and Vibo Valentia, at the "toe" of the Italian "boot") This adds Calabria to the other regions already covered: Basilicata (Matera and Potenza provinces), Campania (the provinces of Avellino, Benevento, Caserta, Napoli and Salerno) and Sicilia (the island of Sicily). This just started, so obviously you won't find many submissions under these provinces, like you would under Potenza, http://SurnamesByTown.com/Italy/Potenza/potenza.html To add your ancestral surnames, go to http://SurnamesByTown.com/submit.html Tom
I am researching the Barsanti and Della Angelica/Dell'Angelica/Angelica families. My Great Grandmother, Eugenia Tina "Tina" Angelica was born in (according to ship manifest of her immgration to US) Lucca, Italy. Her father was Eugenia Dell'Angelica, and her mother Maria Barsanti. Tina was born in 1905. Maria was born in 1875, Eugene about 1863? The manifest states that Tina was born in Lucca along with her brother Julius. Her sister, Olga, was supposedly born in Chicago. It states Maria was born in Nances? France, and Eugene in Cussano, Italy. Eugene was supposedly very wealthy and has a estate in florence, although the manifest from 1920 states the family home was in Lucca. Eugene would ahve gona back & forth between Chicago & Italy from 1880-1925 or so when after the death of my gggrandmother and my great grandmother, he supposedly returned to Italy and only returned 2X a year to check on his businesses in Chicago and Cicero, IL. The bar in Cicero was called "Barsanti's" I am not sure about the one in Chicago. Does anyone have any knowledge of this family, or can get me pointed in the right direction? --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). The following are two e-mails that I received concerning a money scam. I had called the Attorney General of the State of Washington concerning another individual that had post a similar e-mail message and was informed that that person was well known to them. Now we have two more Mr. Yaya Amadu with a Subject header of "Urgent and Trust" at <ama_yaya@yahoo.com> and Mr. Johnny Rondon with the same subject header at <jjrron@yahoo.com> . I respond to their request for my bank account number with an obscenity and sign it 9/11. I hope by posting this warning that no one is offended because this is a violation of the groups rules. This is just a warning so that no one falls for this scam. Mike Setaro
i apologise if i missed a bit but i dont see anything in the request about her death... maybe i'm just butting in but it looks from here that your reply is not very tactful... however, you are right about the death certs being useful and if you search roots web for the surname you can get an idea of the areas the family settled and that willl give you a head start. plus you can search the ssdi and get any certificates at the cheaper rate. madmclean "Steve Della Rocchetta" <sdr12198@pacbell.net> wrote in message news:3CE32954.E1D4714E@pacbell.net... > Hi Lori > > If she passed on the the US and you know what state this should be easy. > Just request her death certificate all states have that service. Antonio I found a Vito Leogrande arriving on the ship "SS Berlin" arriving in New York from Naples on April 12, 1910 to visit his brother, Donato in Brooklyn, NY. The ship departed Naples on April 1st. He came from Bari Acquaviva (I'm sorry but I cannot read the correct spelling of the town) he was 22 years old and left his father Carlo in Italy. The manifest also had an annotation which might be a Alien Status Check #9-30312 - 6/19/41. He is listed on line 0016 page 27 of the manifest with additional information on the previous page if you can bring it up on the www.ellisislandrecords.com Does any of the above information match your family information? Hi Apply for his death certificate all states have this service cost about 5$ if you know the month and year and about 25 dollars for a 10 year search. In most cases it will have his place of birth and the name of his parents and the cause of death. The url is www.state.xx.us/ Ciao Steve visit my family website for more research sites. http://www.dellarocchetta.com/ Leogrande Antonio wrote: > I am looking for informations about my uncle Leogrande Vito Nicola, born in > Laterza (Taranto) about 1893. > He immigrated to USA about 1910. I am looking for informations about my uncle Leogrande Vito Nicola, born in Laterza (Taranto) about 1893. He immigrated to USA about 1910. He was shoemaker and could read and write. Since the forties or perhaps before he lived in New Heaven, Vermont where he died about 1965-1969. I could not find any information in EI-records. Where else can I look for? Thanks for inspirations. Antonio Leogrande
Amicalement. François LIBRINI.
