    3. Hello, I am new to this list, my name is Judy and I am trying to research my Great Grandfathers family. His name was Antonio CONTESSA born about 1867 my mother believes he was from Turin near the river Po. He migrated to Australia and married in 1897 at the age of 30 years. (we do not know when he came out). His fathers name was Bernardo CONTESSA and mothers name was Maria (not sure of maiden name). I would like to be able to obtain his birth certificate and anything else about the family. My mother also believes they had a summer residence on one of the Island's called (La-Fonda). Please if anyone could help me this would be greatly appreciated. Regards Judy Melb Aust

    3. I found the name Teofilak and am thinking this must be it. I haven't found the origin of the name and may send some letters to the 20 people in the US listed with that last name. It may not even be Italian, I was just told that branch of the family was Italian. BTW this is especially frustrating since the maternal side of my family I have been able to link back over 300 years.

    2. Ciao, I have 2 reasons for this post. 1. I'm doing the genealogy thing. My father's mother was a Margaret CHRISTALDI (ba1910). She had sisters Henrietta(m.Robert TRIMBLE), Virginia(m.Samuel/Minnie ?), Madeline and Irene. Their parents came from Italy before 1910 and lived in the Italian Market area of Philadelphia, PA. Does anyone have any connection or info on this family? 2. Some of us on another list are wondering what the intials CEP stand for on a headtone. An examle is as follows (I'm not related). We are guessing that it is Italian. Ursula SARRACIONO Nacio 1873 Murio 1945 CEP Some are guessing a religious sect...some are guessing a form of the phrase Rest in Peace. (RIP) Any suggestions? Take care, Ella
