    3. Those who are so upset at GOOGLE--It is NOT only them...try MSN try AOL try Yahoo---They ALL do it! I guess the only way to get away from it is to set your browser to question you for every cookie --try it--you won't leave it that way for more than 24 hours (I am really stretching that--probably more like an hour!). __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 2. I am amazed at what I am reading. Does anyone realize that Google is a search engine? When you ask it to search-that's what it does. It grabs ALL references-it does not pick and choose. If your child were researching something and you had Google do a search, wouldn't you want it to find ALL there was to be found on the subject? If you are researching a surname and ask Google to do a search-don't you want it to find ALL references for that surname? If you want to be anonymous don't sign your name. Adrienne

    3. Hi Frank I know very little about it but would be surprised if they corrected the spelling. Mis-spelling were very common. Your fathers name may also be mis-spelled and so badly that you may not even recognize it yourself. They, Rootsweb chose to make it appear that this is a "list" that they provide, it's not. Finally c. Rootsweb neglected to pass on some of the oldest and best advice on using the internet. If your becoming involved in any way with any of the thousands of newsgroups always doctor your email address so it can't be harvested by junk emailers; then never, ever use your real name. Frank F.

    3. > If a number of us feel Google has gone too far, maybe it would help if > we all contacted them as individuals and requested they remove certain > things we find to be an intrusion of privacy. Google already offers a way to keep your posts from being archived at their website and a way to have your previous posts removed from their public archive. See their "Frequently Asked Question About Posting" at: http://groups.google.com/googlegroups/posting_faq.html If you are upset, you should probably complain to Rootsweb. I think it is their representation of this USENET newsgroup as a Rootsweb mailing list that causes confusion. When you subscribe to the GEN-ITALIAN list at Rootsweb, the welcome message does not mention that you are subscribed to a public USENET newsgroup. It does not mention that Rootsweb will maintain an archive of your messages in perpetuity and that the archive is open to the public. Also, I could not find any info at Rootsweb about having your messages removed from the archive. Rootsweb apparently does not even adhere to USENET standards regarding "No Archive" requests and message removal requests, since messages that have been removed at Google, and other USENET archives, remain in the Rootsweb archive. 3. Well let me see....... There were a few "famous, well known" Amatos. Danny Amato ran the numbers in West Brighton. Frank Amato had a few women that he pimped from on Victory Blvd. Johnny Amato stole cars in New York and sold them in New Jersey. We still talk about the Amato brothers when we have our "famous, well known" meetings. Mike Setaro PS have you heard of any famous "Setaro" besides myself?

I find seaches via Google to be rather invasive upon my privacy. As it is, I have discontinued a practice of providing my last name and surnames I am researching.
