I would like to contact Sandra Stanton or Russell White who posted messages in 2000 and 2003, respectively, regarding Stephano Powseitch aka Stefano Haskitt or Haskitt aka John Stanton, an Italian who arrived in NSW in 1813 as a convict from England. I have tried e-mailing, but neither of their addresses are current and I do not have sufficient information to locate them any other way. Hoping one of you may still subscribe to this list and will respond to this message. I am descended from John/Stephano's daughter Hannah and am also interested in hearing from anyone else researching this gentleman or his descendants. Did you have a relative named "Luigia" that married Giovanni Placa (Placca o Place) from Venice? I don't know how many of children they had, but I do know they had twin daughters and, at least one other girl, named Maria (my grandmother) born 24 May 1883 Venice Italy Maria married Giuseppe Vento (my grandfather) born 4 Nov 1881 Lercara Friddi, Palermo, Sicily I am not sure if or when Giovanni Placa immigrated to Brazil. Maria and Guiseppe lived in Sao Paolo, Brazil for a few years prior to 1920 when they immigrated to America.
