I have had a difficult time finding my ancesters surname origin ALMARAS. Cantu originated in Italy and it was altered to CANTU, however, I can not find my Cantu ancesters beyond 1780 in San Lorenzo de Jaumave, Nuevo Santander(Tamaulipas). Almaras, I have found them as far back as 1776 in Cerralvo, Nuevo Reino de Leon(Nuevo Leon). Perhaps someone out there can share some data. Thanks. Bob Gutierrez bob7989@lycos.com
