The LDS Church announced Monday that the Mexico Vital Reecords Index has at last been released. The set of four CDs contains 2 million names, all but a small fraction are birth and christening data. The time period covered is from 1659 to 1905 or thereabouts. According to the press release some of the localities represented have very impressive runs of data spanning as much as 150 years, with a few having nearly 300 year runs, meaning some have earlier data than the 1659 date mentioned above.
