Greeting from the Genealogical Society of Ireland http://welcome.to/GenealogyIreland Folks, It has come to our notice that the symbol for the Euro currency is unrecognised by the newsgroups - maybe the moderators can look into the problem. For example Ir£9.00 (the price of each of our two new publications) in Euros is 11.45, however, the symbol is replaced with a question to make i.e ?11.45. With the Euro already in use for non-cash transactions in twelve of the European Union countries, including Ireland, and will become increasingly so in the run up to the introduction of the notes and coinage in 2002, facilities to display the sign should be available. Hope this explains any confusion over ?11.45 in previous messages. Kind regards to all. Many thanks to all who have placed orders for our publications via the website http://welcome.to/GenealogyIreland - it's a great boost for a non-profit organisation with charitable status in Ireland as the Genealogical Society of Ireland is. We, unashamedly, aim to make these valuable sources available at an affordable and inexpensive rate to all with an interest in Irish family history in Ireland or amongst our Irish Diaspora. Kind regards Mick Merrigan Hon.
