I am tracing my family history. My paternal grandfather was: Seraphin Berecochea, he died on January 10, 1923, in Coalinga, Fresno County, California, USA. I believe he was born in the Basque part of Spain around 1873. I believe he was in the Spanish merchant marine and may have lived in Chile for awhile. He may have had several brothers and sisters. I believe none of the them came to the USA, but I am not sure. His wife, my paternal grandmother, died in Seattle, King County, Washington, USA, on February 24, 1911. I believe she too was born in the Basque part of Spain around 1879. I believe some of her family came to the USA, and lived mostly in California, USA, including Fresno County.
