Hola: Los datos anteriores a 1870 (fecha de creación del Registro Civil) se pueden intentar recabar en las parroquias. Todas las parroquias tenian obligación de llevar anotación de todos los sacramentos que suministraban (desde el Concilio de Trento). Existen libros de bautismos, matrimonios, defunciones ... donde puedes consultar. Elche es una ciudad grande y tiene varias parroquias, debes intentar averiguar las que existian en 1843 y luego buscar la partida de bautismo de Manuel Sempere. Hola, esto es lo que encontrado: ARENAS: El linaje Arenas o Arena, cuyos miembros utilizan indistintamente las variantes La Arena y Larena, siendo, pues, todas estas formas modalidades de un mismo apellido, es originario de la Parroquia de Arenas, perteneciente al partido judicial de Llanes, en Asturias, donde tuvo casa solar. Se extendió luego a Cantabria, La Rioja y a Castilla. BAEZ: Son pocos los datos documentales que sobre los orígenes del apellido Báez se pueden hallar. No se sabe el lugar concreto en el que radicó la primitiva casa solar de los de este linaje. Sí sabemos, sin embargo, que con este nombre existe un lugar próximo a Arcos de la Frontera en la provincia de Cádiz, lo que nos hace supononer que es este el origen del apellido.
