On the subject of Floppy Adaptors for Smartmedia - they are things that look like a floppy disk ( 3.5" ) with a slot to insert the smartmedia card . You put it in your floppy drive to read the contents of the card. There is a USB device now that you can plug a smartmedia into directly , the driver supplied makes the whole thing look like another disk drive - quite effective.
