Princess Anne is Col.in Chief of RLC, my offsprings' regiment. I was seated next to a General at Joanna's commisioning (she had been chosen to escort him to lunch). He told me that whenever Princess Anne visits, it is necessary for everyone to brush up on what the regiments are doing - 'cos she really does know her stuff.
