    3. The Archers is still going and in this mornings Mail on Sunday there is a interview with one of the past writers who has just written a book named "Humbridge" which is about it. The present editor is a feminist who he said has turned it from a country village into a suburb of Birmingham. She intruduced a Asian lady solicitor who in the course of a couple of weeks was so thoroughly integrated that she was carrying indian sweetmeats into the cowshed. The editor also introduced a new black character who married one of the established cast, they had a child but no mention at all was made of colour. She also would have no mention of the troubles about hunts until forced to. His point being that village life just isn't how she wants to portray it. It was slipped in that she is also a lesbian. 3. Yes, Jean, it's still as boring as ever. Because I go to bed early I switch off Radio 4 even though it is the only radio station for me, just because of that programme. The theme tune even winds me up. Radio 1 is for idiots kids, Radio 2 is for frustrated housewives, Radio 3 is for the classics and Radio 4 is for people with brains, except for the Archers. You would think they'd have the decency to take it off now and give us all peace.
