    3. Part of growing up for kids is learning how to play and relax. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying I like them any better but many parents just leave them to their own devices instead of "enjoying" their kids and playing with them or even talking to them. That is part of the reason some of them get into trouble. But it's an unfair world and they have to learn this as well. But I do think the long holiday is far too long and mainly for the teachers benefit who always want another pay rise. Still, they do a job I wouldn't do so we'll leave it there. 3. I honestly don't think the long holidays that Sue and Angela are talking about have anything to do with teachers wanting another pay rise, or being for the benefit of teachers. The weather where Angela lives will not be fit for kids or teachers to be cooped up inside, and I'm sure that must have something to do with it? Don't know much about where Sue lives, but perhaps it's the same there? I don't think you have to worry too much about the demands teachers make, Brian, as successive governments have done their best to load more and more on to them so that they have no spare time at all. It's not the job it once was. Marj > But I do think the long holiday is far too long and mainly for the teachers > benefit who always want another pay rise. 3. Thank goodness mine are only off next week & then not again until mid July to September. You're quite right about parents & their kids Brian. Not sure about teachers. Dad taught at higher education level & he used to spend most of the summer in college doing preparation for the next year as well as working evenings year round. Mind you he also had some admin work to do too. He always said his job in the RAF was easier! Sue S --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
