    3. After doing most of the installation myself I finally had to admit defeat and call in a "professional" to mount the bell box on the outside wall as I can't get up a ladder nowadays. It took the guy FOUR-AND-A-HALF HOURS and an agreed charge of £30 went up to £50 just because I had put a staple through one of the wires half way up the stairs! Poor soul, he couldn't stop the bell from ringing. He even took the box back to the shop and exchanged it thinking it was faulty. Ah well, ain't old age wonderful. It seems the younger generation just shrug these things off with a pitying look. I found I can get away with murder now. 3. They don't even make 'Professional's how they used to, the first job was always check any work you hadn't done yourself. That would have saved him 4 hours 'work'. I know exactly what you mean about ladders. I go up them using only one leg now and Dorothy refuses to watch.
