This is a report in the Brisbane Sunday Mail,or parts thereof........I quote"Forwarding email without permission from the sender is illegal from today. New laws set a maximum of five years or fines up to $A60,000. The illegality stems from breaching copyright held by the original sender. Federal Attorney general Darryl Williams warned Australians they could be breaking the law if they foreward emails as from today. "It's quite possible that forwarding an email could be a technical infringement copyright,"Mr Williams legal advisor said"Emailing something is a 'communication'under the digital Agenda Act". The article closes with a statement by InternetAssociation executive Director Peter Coroneos ,who stated that"Forwarding email had probably always involved a technical breach of copyright."He urged people sending email to spell out whether they gave permission for the contents to be forwarded." That is the report in a nutshell. What are the lists views on the article? Is it just froth and bubbles or is it a rehash of something that has been known for some time?Cheers,Marty(in OZ).
