Frances, books are furniture to me. Better than wallpaper. I will send another picture of that book case. We have book cases in every room in the house except our bedroom, where it is only a rack of stuff I am reading. In our living room I have two banks of four 4 ft shelves, four on each side of the fireplace. One bank is full of books and the other bank is full of CDs. Frances's comments are interesting because my conscience has recently been troubling me and I've been feeling guilty about cluttering the living room up with my music collection. So I've been considering putting more shelves in my small computer/study room to accommodate my CDs. At present though I'm frazzled helping Brendan with his home move and it looks as though we're in for a spot of decorating because local decorators are quoting silly prices like £800 for hanging paper in three rooms. Paper not included and no painting. Strangely, decorators don't seem to relish painting these days. It should be fairly simple though all the rooms have a dado rail so the paper lengths are only 4 ft.
