    3. I had some problems with my mobile phone recently because I never did let the battery run down, always put it on charge so it was fully charged up. Had the phone for about 18 months before it finally conked out. The guy who sold me the new battery told me you should never recharge unless they have run down. I suppose it says that in the instructions (which I have probably only read far enough to make the phone work). Marj > from "memory". 3. Hi Marj et all, > I had some problems with my mobile phone recently because I never did let > the battery run down, always put it on charge so it was fully charged up. NICADs develop a memory - charge them when they're not fully flat and you reduce their capacity. So charge at half charged then will only ever give half capacity. They can be reconditioned if you have lots of patience and the right equipment. NIMH - don't have this memory effect - you can top them up as required. L Ion - Lithium Ion batteries - No memory effect. These can be recharged without blowing another hole in your best string vest. Have higher capacity than similar sized Nicad , lighter weight. More expensive too. Regards Dave :-) --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
