I have BT call minder and don't pay anything - got the number to ring for installation from the television advert. The only trouble is that it doesn't ring you up to tell you you have calls waiting, like yours probably does, Roz. As I hardly ever remember to check to see if there are any calls waiting, ................... However, I would not call anyone's mobile unless I thought it was a matter of life and death. My last phone bill was £117.62. This was for 2 telephones. My actual call costs were £31.39, and they would have been £8.50 less if I had not telephoned a friend on her mobile while she was on line trying to install BT as her ISP! Another big charge was £7.39 for ringing the BT help line at great expense on behalf of the above friend. Never again! The bill for my second telephone bill was £25.50 and that's the total quarterly charge for your second line. I don't make calls on that phone and I don't have any coming in, although I could if I wanted to. Don't ask my where the free phone line comes in, I know this doesn't sound like I am getting anything for nothing! Marj All you have to do is use your mobile phone. Put on bt call minder....costs £2 a month (I think but I get it free with my business line) and you can leave a message telling people to ring your mobile as you are on another call or leave a message. That's what I do.
