Hi Dave, Remember the discussion about a year ago re Digi Cameras and rechargeable batteries? I just got a new camera which recharges from the mains but has the option of batteries. It is a GoodmanGDC-100 in case you wondered. Thing is I can't remember the difference between Alkaline and Manganese batteries. Are the rechargeables Manganese? It says, "Never use manganese." You should not try recharging alkaline or plain manganese batteries unless your house wants redecorating anyway :-). You should not recharge Lithium batteries unless you've made a will and are wearing clean underwear. Regards Dave --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Thanks, Dave. The question is no longer a question. I found the camera I bought can only be used with Win 95 or 98 NOT with ME or above so it's going back. I think I'd be better doing what Jim did and buying from ASDA. Hi Brian, As far as I know Manganese batteries are not rechargeable. The rechargeable batteries are Nickel/Cadmium (Nicads) but the most recent batteries are Metal Hydride. These give full power for a longer time and do not suffer from "memory". I am told that they can be recharged before fully discharged and still retain full power.
