Nothing complicated Marg. Just assign each one a number, decide what they are Mainstream Jazz , Dixieland, Progressive Jazz, Swing, Bop. Then cross index the artists and later I might try and include solo instrumentalists if it doesn't get too compicated. For exampleWoody herman recorded Bijou which is entirely different than the Bijou of the Stan Kenton Progressive Jazz Orchestra which has a superlative trombone solo.
