Freeserve are conning the public with their "Anytime" offer. I am sick of paying Freeserve £12.99 p.m. for so-called "Anytime" only to find I get cut off every two hours. I am only allowed two hours apparently. This is usually OK even though the PC has to redial, except for the times when a download [or upload] takes more than two hours or when it is started near to the end of the two hours. If I do a complete upload of my website, i.e. when I redesign my web site, it takes more than two hours. I have just been trying to download an MS Office update which takes 159 minutes. It has stalled twice so far. I don't know why I'm bothering about Office 2000, I don't even like it and rarely use it. I have always used Works but lost it on my last re-format when I had the new motherboard installed and went over to WinXP. > Why do YOU need two telephones, Brian? I have tried to get Cable to set me up but after a month they still say it will take another three weeks to connect me. The wires are in the house and all they have to do is throw a switch. But they can't be bothered. So I told them where to go. I thought another line would be my way out. All you have to do is use your mobile phone. Put on bt call minder....costs £2 a month (I think but I get it free with my business line) and you can leave a message telling people to ring your mobile as you are on another call or leave a message. That's what I do.
