    3. Sorry Dave, I should have known someone as smart as yourself would know what 'snailmail' is. I'm improving, thank you for asking. I even went to town with hubby today, but oh the trip down to the car!!!! Than to get into the car--and out again--tomorrow I see the specialist. I'm tired of looking at a swollen piece of purple meat that extends down to the ankle---------- ----- Original Message ----- From: "davspark" <davspark@ntlworld.com> To: "Vicky Ballantine" <cobolt47@frontiernet.net> Hi Vicky, What I was meaning to say was that I had just received an e-mail that had taken 16 days to reach me. If the letter had been sent by ordinary post I would probably received it in 2 - 3 days .I was attempting to be sarcastic ! How are you progressing after your accident; improving I hope ! 3. Hi Vicky, I can sympathise with you concerning the car journey. One Christmas Day, a good number of years ago, I slipped on some steps and broke my foot (I had NOT been imbibing !) I was taken to the local hospital , had the foot strapped up and told to return after the holiday to have it X-Rayed. It could not be done at the time as all the radiographers were off. After spending some time on crutches and with a plaster cast on my leg, I decided to visit my mother on the other side of the city. It took me half an hour to get to the bus stop (about 400 yards) and caught a bus at once. I had to make my way across the city centre to get another bus to my mother's. I spent half an hour there and then set off home. That was my day ! Take care and look after yourself, David ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vicky Ballantine" <cobolt47@frontiernet.net> To: <GEN-FRIENDS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2002 10:26 PM Subject: Fw: [GEN-FRIENDS] slow today > Sorry Dave, I should have known someone as smart as yourself would know what > 'snailmail' is.
