    3. For UK I notice yesterday Scotrail offers overnight sleeper fare of £19 ($30) from London to, for instance, Fort William - that's what I call a bargain and includes breakfast! 3. My son flew from Stansted to Edinburgh for £25 which works out cheaper cos he lives near Stansted. I was told that it was £75 return by train....nice to see it's cheaper. Last time I went to Scotland...circa 1959....we went up via the old Starlight Express into Glasgow which was not a sleeper but was cheap. 3. When you book rail travel in UK nowadays, you MUST be prepared to wrangle and make sure you get the cheapest fare. This can sometimes mean booking a long time in advance. One of my friends regularly goes to London from Liverpool, and has done it for about £12 with Virgin. You can fly from Liverpool to London Luton for a very small amount with EasyJet Marj --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 3. It would probably cost double that, or more, for coach travel to Scotland from Nottingham. Bubbles from Robin Hood Country. ----- Original Message ----- From: "mikemail" <michael@ae.net.sa> To: <GEN-FRIENDS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2002 3:09 AM Subject: [GEN-FRIENDS] Trains etc For UK I notice yesterday Scotrail offers overnight sleeper fare of £19 ($30) from London to, for instance, Fort William - that's what I call a bargain and includes breakfast!
