    3. I get up at about 8 am each day and switch on. The computer is on then until I go to bed around midnight. I don't switch it off because I have permitted a University (Oxford, in UK, and Stanford in USA) to use the spare space on my computer for cancer research. If any wants further details I will be glad to send them. You don't have to be on line for this - they set up the "problem" while you are on line, and then your computer works on it - but the computer does have to be switched on. I might be tempted to leave it on overnight, but I know Don would be unhappy about a possible fire risk. Marj Also I never leave tv's on standby either, in fact my new tv came with the instructions that it must NOT be left on standby for long periods. Roz --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 3. My PC stays on overnight so that AVG can do a scan, DEFRAG can run and SCANDISK can do it's work whilst I'm in the land of nod.
