As a matter of a fact Mike, that's what the fire chief suggested on the news this evening. This particular crossing, where the accident occurred, has been the site of many fatalities. A good friend of mine was killed on the same spot in '93, but she wasn't playing chicken with the train. Her car stalled and instead of jumping out of it (it was a brand new car) she kept trying to get it started again. She died about two hours after being hit. An alternative I had in one room in Pakistan was a water cooler which consists of a large fan and a box like structure outside which as straw wall which are constantly moist - thus water droplets are spun into the room. Martha, You're kidding, the child was missing for 15 months and no one knew? I assume the parents had something to do with her disappearance. So sad that there weren't other people in this child's life to know that she wasn't there. We had a horrible thing happen here this afternoon. There are R/R tracks about 3 blocks from my house and at 4:15 four high school seniors were crossing the tracks in a car. It was hit by a train, two of the kids died immediately, the other two were life flighted to Pittsburgh and aren't supposed to survive. All four of them would have been at their graduation ceremony at 6:00 this evening. Identies haven't been made public yet but as we live in a very small community, we're all holding our breath. This makes me want to tie my kids to the house and never let them out into the world, nylon rope should do nicely but I still plan to duct tape their mouths. Her school has acquired a basson costing £4,500 to replace the clapped out one she has been using heretofore. Her cornet is her own. Like Marj's daughter I spent 3 months on a camp in North Carolina - wealthy Jewish camp. Some of the kids were there the whole time their parents off to the Far East and other places - on Parents Day there were Rolls Royce's etc I felt sorry for some of the kids they really needed love not Summer Camp. When the odd one 'escaped' they would phone home and bawl! Wonderful to have music in the family, Jim. In February we went to see South Pacific at the National Theatre - there is nuthin like a dame! Very enjoyable but I was constantly reminded of the Rossano Brazzi etc - it's always the same when one has been brought up with a version - I was just too young to appreciate Mary Martin.
