    3. There may not be 'Women's Rights' like the ones I believe have gone overboard in some Countries, but he can never stop me bitching. I just hate myself when I'm like that. We don't need women's rights anyway as everyone knows the woman is really the boss, the secret is pretending that the husband is the boss. 1. RE: [GEN-FRIENDS] Climbers & walkers
    2. George Elting
    3. The location is Mt. Hood in Oregon, and several of the climbers were killed. One group of climbers slipped and came down upon 2 other groups causing all 3 groups to fall into a crevasse. The helicopter is Air Force reserve and only one person was badly injured but is expected to recover. Mountain climbing is a very big business here in the Pacific Northwest and probably always will be. Being up on the mountain is a wonderful experience and the view is unmatched! Just another soggy Seattle Sysop. -----Original Message----- From: Brian [mailto:brian@lordbramhall.co.uk] Sent: Friday, May 31, 2002 12:33 AM To: GEN-FRIENDS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [GEN-FRIENDS] Climbers & walkers It just came on the news here in UK that a rescue helicopter crashed in snowy mountains trying to rescue climbers somewhere in the US. Oregan I think. The rescue was being filmed and they showed the helicopter breaking up as it rolled down the mountainside. These damn climbers, walkers and mountaineers are a pain throughout the world. I wish they'd learn not to rely on others for rescue and make people risk their lives. Very selfish. 3. Today's paper tells us that the police have more charges to bring against her if ever her present tariff is altered due to European rules. For the benefit of our overseas pals, back in the early 1960's Myra Hindley and her boyfriend Brady abducted and tortured children then filmed and recorded their terror as they were tortured then buried them on the moors. Some have still to be found. New European laws say we [UK] should release some 1300 killers because they believe they have been in jail too long. I wish they would let her out so she could be ripped to pieces like she did to the kids. Formerly it tended to be pretty horrendous. Not a word to Francesca Of course. Actually she is going to the Royal Albert Hall, London to play in two bands one on cornet and one on bassoon. In February we went to see South Pacific at the National Theatre - there is nuthin like a dame! Very enjoyable but I was constantly reminded of the Rossano Brazzi etc - it's always the same when one has been brought up with a version - I was just too young to appreciate Mary Martin. I was more impressed by Carmen at The Albert Hall a couple of nights later. She is to perform three songs from Les Miserables and South Pacific. For some utterly stupid reason the examiners require that she wears costume which her mother has had to hire from a costumiers at no little expense. Francesca has never been in a musical play in her life but enjoys singing in the school choir and the Oldham Schools Choir as well as playing in brass and wind bands for school and the Oldham Lyceum on cornet and bassoon. Her school has acquired a basson costing £4,500 to replace the clapped out one she has been using heretofore. Her cornet is her own. 3. The batter on the fish at our local chippie is excellent. However, Don and I can only eat one portion of fish and chips between the two of us, it is so huge! I suppose it must be nearly £4 by now - it was over £3.50 last time I was allowed to buy it. Cypriot, Ange! Marj What happened to crispy batter?
