    3. I wondered how long it would take for you to complain. One of our Sues I'll risk saying it's the one with the star. recommended a image resizing program which I downloaded and it cocked up my email facility to the extent that I could only receive. So I couldn't unsubscribe before I got Virgin.net. When I could subscribe with that I couldn't unsubscribe with britishlibrary.net if you see what I mean as my uncle Joe McKnight would say. I came to the conclusion that you'd probably prefer not to know if you see what I mean as.....etc. Jim Sharpe Shaw, Oldham, UK ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian <brian@lordbramhall.co.uk> To: Jim Sharpe <jimm.sharpe@virgin.net>; <GEN-FRIENDS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, May 31, 2002 1:04 PM Subject: Re: [GEN-FRIENDS] Help > I have to agree that there are very few disadvantages to a bachelor > existance and I prefer a difficult duvet to a difficult woman anytime. > > BTW, what the hell are you doing on @virgin.net now? > > Brian > Staffordshire, UK > List Admin > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jim Sharpe" <jimm.sharpe@virgin.net> > To: "Brian" <brian@lordbramhall.co.uk>; <GEN-FRIENDS-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Saturday, June 01, 2002 3:36 AM > Subject: Re: [GEN-FRIENDS] Help > > > > One of the very few disadvantages of a bachelor existance Brian. > > > > Jim Sharpe > > Shaw, Oldham, UK > > > > --- > Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. > Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). > Version: 6.0.368 / Virus Database: 204 - Release Date: 30/05/2002 > >

    1. [GEN-FRIENDS] Pest Control
    2. Pamela Cotton
    3. Pest Control A woman was having a passionate affair with an inspector from a pest-control company. One afternoon they were carrying on in the bedroom together when her husband arrived home unexpectedly. "Quick," said the woman to her lover, "into the closet!", and she pushed him in the closet stark naked. The husband, however, became suspicious and after a search of the bedroom discovered the man in the closet. "Who are you?" he asked him. "I'm an inspector from Bugs-B-Gone," said the exterminator. "What are you doing in there?" the husband asked. "I'm investigating a complaint about an infestation of moths," the man replied. "And where are your clothes?" asked the husband. The man looked down at himself and said, "Those little bastards." --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). 3. I'm afraid my experience is, Brian, that the world will not function without Credit cards. Just try to hire a car in Europe (or USA) without one - Nearly all companies would not accept a £1000 cash if you offered it, instead of opening up the business with Debit cards they are making it even harder. The same applies to hotels and many other retail outlets. I guess it's simpler not to handle cash and the card companies guarantee the money whereas Debit can be falsified if not directly on line (of course most is now). I am obliged to get a credit card because people won't accept hard cash! At least one of my banks here is Islamic so there is no charge for a visa card and interest charged as it is anti-Islamic to do so (as per. Quran.) In years to come I predict no currency - I mean all investments etc are on paper now - rarely do you see a barrow load of ingots being delivered. 3. I remember that song well! In fact, a couple of years ago I was searching the internet to get a copy of "The Dambusters' March" by the Billy Cotton Band, and found "A Golden Coach" by Billy Cotton. I think he wrote it! When I used to run the antiques stall for the hospice, someone once gave us a Coronation Coach, with horses and everything, still in its box, and I was delighted that we got £20 for it without even trying. Yesterday, the Hospice had a Jubilee Day for the day patients, including a display of 1953 stuff (for the Coronation wasn't until 1953) and I thought how well the coach would have looked in the display cabinet. Marj > Had a memory jog today reading The Telegraph - a feature about the Jubilee mentioned a record which was popular at the time A Golden Coach sung by Dickie Valentine - we had this disc but I guess I never heard of it until now. > I did have awonderful model of the Coronation Coach, which was quite expensive at the time and now worth a lot of money.
