For "Life is > real, and life is earnest, and the grave is not the goal". > > > Marj > My experience is very different to yours then Marj. My gran wanted to die 2 or 3 years before she actually did and in my opinion she got her wish as I believe that she eventually starved herself to death. At 95 she was incontinent and so had no dignity and every time I visited she told me that you wouldn't be allowed keep an animal in that state. She ate very little and the home didn't feed her. They said they didn't have time and she was able to feed herself and they used to use the old cop-out that by making her feed herself she was keeping her dignity!!!!! Bull!!!!!!! She was registered blind and deaf and when I got there and saw the food spilt down the front of her I knew how embarrassed she was. She used to be a very outgoing person but finished up locked in a world of her own. Was that living?? One other thought. We are told that this life is but a passage to what lies beyond the grave. When you are sick, tired and have no real purpose left in life perhaps the thought of meeting your maker is quite a pleasant one. That, plus meeting the multitude who have gone before. She used to say how much she was looking forward to meeting my granddad and her parents again. Roz _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. Ted just finished his training session at the local McDonald's. So he was a little nervous being behind the register for the first time. His first customer ordered a Milkshake. "Ted," his manager said, "remember to say 'Welcome to McDonald's' to each customer before they order." His second customer ordered a Cheeseburger. This time, the manager approached Ted again, and said, "Remember to ask each customer if they want fries with their order." At this point a man came in wearing a ski mask, approached Ted at the register and pointed a gun in his face. "Give me all the money you got in that register kid!" Ted took one look at his manager, thought to himself, and quickly said, "Welcome to McDonald's, would you like that for here or to go?" --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 3. The spaceship crashed, but the two glowing Martians survived and set out to find a way home. They walked through the forests, through the fields, and finally came into the city. They stopped at an intersection and began to shake and moan at the mere sight of a green light. Suddenly, the light turned from green to yellow, and then to red. Turning to his traveling companion, one Martian said disgustedly, "Let's get out of here. If there's one thing I hate, it's a woman who's a tease." --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Here, in UK, the price you see (usually very high) is the price you pay except in Costco or Makro, or other wholesale places. Marj --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. 3. Oh, Jim, Jim, Jim. You really are behind the times. I moved from the hell hole last September. When they started building the so-called STADIUM for the games they moved all the trash out of Clayton, openshaw, Beswick and other parts of the Manchester slums and sent many to Droylsden [no "e" in the middle]. So, along with many others, got out. I moved to Staffordshire near to my Cuz, Pamela. Actually moved on the 11 September and watched the disasters on TV in a local pub whilst waiting for the removal van to arrive. 3. I thought you lived in Droylsden Brian. You won't get snowed in in Droylsden. While we're on the subject, what's the correct spelling Droylsden or Droylesden. You wonder why I ask? In the 1881 census the first Middleton Sharpe to live in Manchester (C-on-M) had entered in his 'where born' box Wigton, Cumberland. This was scored through and Droylesden inserted. I couldn't find him anywhere in Droylesden, Births, Marriages or anything. then I noticed the woman next door was born in Droylesden so I smelt a rat or an incompetent official, and after a search found him in Wigton minus the final 'e' and four years old in 1851 with his dad brothers and sisters and grandad 'Old Mid'. No mention of Mum. Even further back one of the women was nee Middleton. 3. Freeserve are conning the public with their "Anytime" offer. I am sick of paying Freeserve £12.99 p.m. for so-called "Anytime" only to find I get cut off every two hours. I am only allowed two hours apparently. This is usually OK even though the PC has to redial, except for the times when a download [or upload] takes more than two hours or when it is started near to the end of the two hours. If I do a complete upload of my website, i.e. when I redesign my web site, it takes more than two hours. I have just been trying to download an MS Office update which takes 159 minutes. It has stalled twice so far. I don't know why I'm bothering about Office 2000, I don't even like it and rarely use it. I have always used Works but lost it on my last re-format when I had the new motherboard installed and went over to WinXP. > Why do YOU need two telephones, Brian? I have tried to get Cable to set me up but after a month they still say it will take another three weeks to connect me. The wires are in the house and all they have to do is throw a switch. But they can't be bothered. So I told them where to go. I thought another line would be my way out.
