    3. Nowadays in Canada you go by VIA Rail. It is still possible to cross Canada by rail starting out in Halifax. The train goes by way of Moncton and the Mirimichi to Quebec City, Montreal and Toronto. After Toronto it goes north across the top of Lake Superior across the prairies and the Rockies to Vancouver. Then you could go down to Washington state and come back across through the US to the East Coast. Hmm Maybe we should try it too. 3. Had two more x-rays done this morning--it seems the break is more than we were first lead to believe, it is down the shin bone as well, a fracture there, but need to keep the leg brace on for 2 full months! Ohhh, I'm already heartily tired of it! But know its for my own good. Had it off for a shower and suffered greatly for that few moments. Will need to use the walker these next 2 months as well. Now that is a bummer! I love to go for country strolls- not now however! Just getting in and out of a car is enough to make me want to scream! In two weeks go back for more x-rays. Talking about a different kind of brace then. Poor hubby insists on sleeping on the davenport or recliner--won't hear of me doing either one. He looks so tired! Will keep everyone updated. 3. Life's like that Brian. I've now run out of deligatees if you see what I mean. Good lord I'm beginning to sound like my long dead Uncle Joe. My son Brendan has just had an offer accepted for a house about one mile higher up the hill from us. There must be a compliment in there somewhere. It's a bungalow but the best part is the back garden which is poised on the edge of an escarpment from where you look down about five hundred feet onto Shaw and Crompton Cricket Club's ground. When I was a lad (was I ever a lad?) I used to see them playing at Ashton Cricket ground. Ahh Happy days. Come summer we'll be sitting there with a long beer and barbecued sausages. 3. Nothing complicated Marg. Just assign each one a number, decide what they are Mainstream Jazz , Dixieland, Progressive Jazz, Swing, Bop. Then cross index the artists and later I might try and include solo instrumentalists if it doesn't get too compicated. For exampleWoody herman recorded Bijou which is entirely different than the Bijou of the Stan Kenton Progressive Jazz Orchestra which has a superlative trombone solo. 3. Needless to say the BBC have cocked it up as usual. The court room is so out of focus it is difficult to recognise anyone - unless that is the idea, in which case why not broadcast it on radio? 1. [GEN-FRIENDS] Fw: Digital Cameras
    2. Brian
    3. Thanks Katy you've turned up trumps again. I have to say I find the price of the Fiji 1400 unbelievable. The camera I had stolen was the 1200 and I paid £174 for it in a Boxing Day half price sale over a year ago. The 1400 is offered at £168 inlc. tax and delivery. Includes a 4MB smartmedia card AND an extra 8MB smartmedia card I just sent in my order then re-read my order to find I had actually ordered three. Incidentally, Jim, this firm is in Huddersfield, next door to you.
