    3. Shutting it off means just that, switching off at the plug and removing the plug. Many people think it dangerous to leave an appliance plugged in when not using it. Standby means there is still power going to it which is what it is designed for otherwise why have the facility in the first place? And, of course, the "experts" say this is dangerous. Before then they went by the movement of the sun and moon and the changes in the climate to determine what time it was during the day and when spring summer etc occurred. How could it be 53 BC (before Christ) before he had arrived?
