This reminds me that when I was cooking in Canada, when my sister was ill, they all wanted bacon sandwiches and I had been asked to take the bacon over with me as it is different to Canadian bacon (not better, just different) I was frying eggs too, and saved the bacon fat from the grill pan in a basin.
